Supreme Court of Western Australia

Parents and Childminding

Attending court can be stressful and we recommend that you make care arrangements for your children if you need to attend a court hearing. We understand though that there may be times when you need to bring your child to Court. There are changing facilities and a small parents’ room on level 3 of the David Malcolm Justice Centre. The Court has also recently opened two witness rooms in the Stirling Gardens Building which will provide a quiet space for children.

Access to child-minding services is available for people required to attend court. The service uses approved local child-care centres and is free to jurors, witnesses, accused or litigants who need to attend court.

To arrange to use the child-minding service or for more information, please contact the Registry at least two business days before your hearing.
