Supreme Court of Western Australia

Security

Everyone entering the Supreme Court buildings pass through airport style security screening for themselves and their belongings. Please allow for extra time to get through security prior to your court appearance.

If the presence of metal is detected, security officers will ask you to step aside so they can scan you with a hand held metal detector. Officers are trained to be respectful and discrete.

If you are unable to be scanned due to a physical disability or medical implant, tell the security officers and they will assist you.

In court security

Security officers are present in the court for all hearings. If you have any security concerns during your hearing you are able to raise them with the security officer.

Threats and comments made about carrying weapons or explosives - whether intended as a joke or not - will be taken seriously and may result in you being refused entry to the building or police being called.
